Red Nose Day is Cure Kids biggest fundraising appeal!
Remembered for the catchy theme songs ‘You make the whole world smile’ and ‘Feel Inside (and stuff like that)’, Kiwis have united every Red Nose Day to make a difference to child health in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This year is no different with people across the motu signing up to do something silly in July in return for donations – because what’s a little embarrassment to help Cure Kids?
The iconic little red nose brings joy to Kiwis for its fun nature and its big impact.
As Cure Kids biggest annual fundraising appeal, Red Nose Day helps raise significant funds to support child health research. Over the years, this funding has led to some big breakthroughs in child health, including new insights into paediatric health conditions, better care for children who live with serious diseases, and the discovery of new ways to diagnose, treat, and cure kids.
Why we need your support
- 40K Children are admitted to hospital every year for preventable illnesses
- 300 Babies are stillborn every year
- 150 Children are diagnosed with a form of cancer every year
- 1/3 Of acute hospitalisations for children are due to respiratory conditions
- 1/4 Of young people report serious psychological distress
- 140 Children hospitalised each year for rheumatic fever and heart disease
